BIG EXCLUSIVE!! Chelsea exploring ambitious move to sign Manchester City centre back as well as watching TWO Benfica defenders!!

I think it’s pretty clear that a club like Chelsea need to be playing Champions League football, that just goes without saying. It brings higher revenue simply just be qualifying for the competition, and it also brings in many more options for sponsorship and higher fees from them too. Chelsea of course, are still playing without a front of shirt sponsor this season, which means they are missing out on millions right now. If they had played Champions League football this season, then there is no doubt that they would have a very good front of shirt sponsor right now paying them a lot of money to do so. So make no mistake, Champions League football for Chelsea next season is hugely important.

And that is what the players are aiming for.

Cucurella speaks

No sponsors on their shirts

On Chelsea’s ambitions for this season, Cucurella said: ‘All of us dream of winning trophies. In the league, we know it’s difficult.

‘You have teams who stay with the same project for a long time so there are a few in front of us but our objective, for sure, is to play in the Champions League next season. It’s very important for us.’

I’m really happy,’ Cucurella concluded. ‘My family is happy here. We are in a top club with good fans. Hopefully I can stay for a lot of time.’

The left back has been in much better form this season after a tough start to life at Chelsea. He’s starting to become, dare I say it, a bit of a fan favourite!
