Allan has apologised after being sent off in Corinthians’ 3-1 defeat at Fluminense, admitting an obscene gesture led to his dismissal.
The midfielder said in a post that the incident at the Maracanã did not reflect his upbringing or values, and he apologised to team-mates, staff, the club, supporters and opponents. He added he aims to show on the pitch, through work, respect and dedication, that the episode does not define him.
The flashpoint came six minutes into the second half after a confrontation with Lucho Acosta, when both were booked. Allan then grabbed his genitals towards Fluminense players and staff. Following a VAR review, referee Davi de Oliveira Lacerda ruled the act disrespectful and showed a red card.
Head coach Dorival Júnior criticised the behaviour after the match and said the matter will be dealt with internally. Corinthians were already two goals down when he was dismissed.
On loan from Flamengo until the end of 2026, Allan made his 10th appearance for the club, his sixth start. Before the red card he had received four yellow cards.
He will miss Sunday’s meeting with Internacional at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena in round 10 of the Brasileirão. Left-back Matheus Bidu is also suspended after accumulating three bookings.
