Allan Saint-Maximin joins Charlotte FC on three-year MLS deal

Allan Saint-Maximin has joined Charlotte FC on a three-year MLS deal as a free agent. According to L'Équipe, the winger has signed as a Designated Player.

The move follows a six-month stint at Lens capped by the club's first Coupe de France title, a 3-1 win over Nice on 22 May.

Despite only 13 matches for Lens, his attacking impact under Pierre Sage helped the side finish second in the league. A Saint-Étienne academy graduate, he will now continue his career in the United States.

At Charlotte, he will take one of the squad's limited international slots. Wilfried Zaha's 18-month loan from Galatasaray has ended, freeing a place for the Paris-region native.

Charlotte are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, which leaves them in the play-off positions.
