Massimiliano Allegri was pleased with the performance of his team as they beat Liverpool 4-2.
After losing 1-0 to Arsenal on Wednesday, Milan took on Liverpool in Hong Kong this Saturday and they showed a lot of good progress, winning 4-2 thanks to counter attacking football.
The Reds were in control for most of the match, but the Rossoneri were extremely efficient going forward: Rafael Leão (10′), Dominik Szoboszlai (26′), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (52′), Noah Okafor (59′, 94′) and Cody Gakpo (93′) scored the goals in front of a packed Kai Tak Stadium in China.
After the match, coach Allegri spoke to the press:
What did you think of the performance? “Leão did very well as a center forward, as did the entire team, which has been working hard this preseason.”
How was your experience in Hong Kong?“It was a wonderful evening, there were 50,000 fans in the stadium. It was a good match, the stadium is a magnificent facility and we’re happy to have played here.”

What aspect of the team’s performance did you like most? What was your assessment of Leão as a center forward? It may not be his position, but he had a great game tonight…“The best and most important thing I’m happy about after these first 20 days of work is that the team has a proactive attitude, it has significantly increased its ability to suffer, and this means that when we have the ball we try to play, and when we don’t have it, we all defend together very well as a team. As for Leão, he’s a strong player with extraordinary qualities. I believe he’s growing, and he’s at a mature age to have an important season.”
The next pre-season game is in Australia in Perth against Perth Glory FC on Thursday.
