Alphonso Davies (25) to make Bayern Munich return | OneFootball

Speaking in Friday’s press conference ahead of Bayern Munich’s Matchday 13 Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart, Vincent Kompany returned some positive news surrounding Alphonso Davies.

“If everything goes according to plan, he could get his first minutes of playing time against Mainz,” the Belgian said. “He’s very close to a comeback, but not tomorrow,” he added, ruling the left-back out of Saturday’s game.

When could Davies return for Bayern?

Bayern travel to Stuttgart before hosting Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. If everything goes accordingly and there are no further setbacks, Davies could feature on 14 December.

Although Davies won’t feature against Sporting CP, he could be named in the squad, per Kicker. Kompany also revealed that the Canadian’s mental state has been ‘very stable’ in recent weeks, but needs a little time to ‘find his motivation’, per Kicker. “The goal must always be to come back stronger, even if that’s not easy and you have to be patient,” added Bayern’s head coach.
