Club América will travel to Spain in the coming days for pre-season ahead of the Apertura 2026. New head coach Guillermo Almada requested a Marbella base, which has been approved, and they are expected to stay for two or three weeks.

According to Americayya.net, Almada wants to assess every player, including those back from loan, before confirming any departures. The only exit close to being finalised is Thiago Espinosa to Atlante.

The plan is to recruit four or five players. Midfielder Luis Chávez, currently at the World Cup with Mexico, is the leading priority, along with a centre-forward.

That approach suggests ‘Pantera’ Zúñiga could be on his way out.

There have been no official moves so far, and arrivals may take time, with the World Cup slowing the market.
