Despite having ended the 2024-25 season, FC Barcelona still have a very busy few months awaiting them. This is mainly because the Blaugranes are looking to further strengthen their team for the upcoming season.

In this regard, they have already signed the goalkeeper Joan Garcia, and are now keen to reinforce their attack by signing the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.

The Catalans have reportedly already reached a personal agreement with the winger, and now need to take the next steps in the process, i.e., the payment of his release clause.

According to Mundo Deportivo, this operation will take up most of the Blaugrana club’s efforts, who are expected to have a very busy next week.

The Catalans have already prepared the €62 million they need to sign Nico, which includes his €58 million release clause and the €4 million CPI.

Now, Barcelona need to decide on a date on which this money will be submitted to La Liga through their legal representatives and the player’s agent. The club intends to take this step this week, and the involved documents have already been exchanged.

The player is currently enjoying his holidays in Mauritius, but intends to celebrate his 23rd birthday, on 12th July, as a Barcelona player in the Catalan city. Right after that, he will start pre-season training under Hansi Flick on 13th July.

Other notable days

Other than that, there are some other important tasks awaiting the Blaugranes this coming week as well. For instance, some important departures will be finalized, including those of Noah Darvich, Sergi Dominguez, and Pablo Torre, on Monday, while Ansu Fati’s departure will be completed on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Ronald Araujo and Marc Bernal, who both are set to return early from their vacations, will start training on Tuesday. Bernal will also address the media on Friday.

Lastly, La Liga are set to announce the league schedule for the next season on Tuesday, and Barcelona and their fans will be keen to know the most prominent dates, including those of El Clásicos.
