Harry Kane and the English national team are dreaming of winning the 2026 World Cup in North America. The striker has already scored five goals so far and has his teammates absolutely raving about him.

Even the experts are slowly running out of superlatives when it comes to Harry Kane. Not only did the striker have a brilliant season with FC Bayern and win three domestic titles, but he’s also striving for the greatest possible success with the national team.

And that, of course, is winning the World Cup title. For Kane, the focus now is on staying focused on the tournament. Against the Democratic Republic of the Congo, he scored a brace to help England turn a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1 victory and advance to the next round.

Gordon raves about Kane

In the aftermath of England’s match, Anthony Gordon—who recently transferred from Newcastle to FC Barcelona—spoke highly of his teammate on the national team.

Gordon, who was also highly sought after by Bayern Munich, told Sky Sports: “It’s incredible to be around him every day. He had a season in which his goal tally was surpassed only by Leo Messi, the greatest soccer player of all time. That says it all about the level at which he plays.”

For Gordon, none of this is a coincidence: “It’s the consistency in his daily training—how hard he works, every finishing drill—he does everything with passion, he does everything with dedication. It’s incredible to work with him. He’s definitely an inspiration to all of us.”

Kane himself leads the way, wins duels, and fights for the team. Even with the English national team, he likes to drop back into midfield to influence the flow of the game, which can sometimes be a bit disjointed. So far, it’s paid off, as he’s one of the best players of the tournament. And in addition to the World Cup title, he’s also in the running for the Ballon d’Or.
