Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, currently the head of Brazil’s national team and one of the most decorated managers in Champions League history, has unveiled the clubs he sees as the top contenders for the 2025-2026 edition of Europe’s elite competition.
Speaking to Italian daily Tuttosport, Ancelotti was crystal clear: in his eyes, the fight for the trophy will come down to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain.
An iconic figure in European football, Ancelotti boasts a remarkable Champions League record: five managerial titles—two with AC Milan and three with Real Madrid—plus two as a player with the Rossoneri in 1989 and 1990.
One of the standout aspects of his comments is the absence of FC Barcelona among his favorites. The Italian boss also left out Arsenal, hinting that he doesn’t expect the Gunners to reclaim their spot at the summit of European football this season.
