According to Globo.com, Carlo Ancelotti said Brazil are close to finalising their 2026 World Cup squad, though places remain open, speaking at CBF headquarters on Monday.

He stressed the list is not closed and noted the depth of talent, adding that a few positions are still not defined.

At a partnership launch with a car manufacturer that will sponsor all Brazil teams from 2026 to 2027, he praised the CBF’s logistics for this year’s tournament. He cited an excellent training base and a private hotel in the United States, and said the set-up gives the staff calm to work with optimism.

The event was attended by Ancelotti, CBF president Samir Xaud and women’s national teams coordinator Cris Gambaré.

Brazil will play friendlies in March in the United States against France in Boston and Croatia in Orlando. A Panama fixture is expected to be confirmed for late May, and there is an expectation of a game against Egypt on six June in the US before the World Cup.

Ancelotti’s side are in Group C with Morocco, Scotland and Haiti. Brazil play on 13, 19 and 24 June 2026, opening against Morocco, then Haiti, before finishing the group against Scotland.

The five-time champions are chasing a sixth crown. Their last title came in 2002, they lost to Croatia in the 2022 quarter-finals and finished fourth in 2014.
