Carlo Ancelotti attended Estádio Nilton Santos on Saturday to watch Botafogo face Flamengo in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, ahead of Monday's Brazil squad announcement.

According to Globo.com, the Brazil head coach assessed several players at close quarters and was alongside Rodrigo Caetano, the CBF's director of national teams, and former defender Juan, now a CBF technical manager.

Botafogo's Vitinho and Danilo are on his preliminary list. The full back was called up by Ancelotti last year but missed recent fixtures. The midfielder's only selection came in 2022 under Tite.

Flamengo also had players under scrutiny, including Danilo, Alex Sandro, Léo Pereira, Lucas Paquetá and Pedro.

Brazil play friendlies against France and Croatia on 26 and 31 March.
