After falling out of favor at Manchester United, Cameroonian international goalkeeper André Onana has agreed to join Turkish club Trabzonspor on a season-long loan without an option to buy.
The 29-year shot-stopper had initially been reluctant to make the move, as exclusively revealed by Africafoot, but has since reversed his decision amid limited prospects for playing time at Old Trafford.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Onana is scheduled to travel to Turkey on Thursday to complete his medical and finalize the transfer. The move provides the Indomitable Lion an opportunity for regular first-team football ahead of the upcoming season.
According to the Daily Mail, the loan deal is set to provide a significant financial boost for André Onana, effectively doubling his current earnings through a combination of a signing bonus and additional performance incentives.
From a club perspective, Manchester United will not receive a loan fee for the transfer, while Trabzonspor have not secured an option to make the move permanent at the end of the loan period, which expires on June 30th.
