Palmeiras drew 1-1 at Remo in the 15th round on Sunday, Ramón Sosa scoring in the first half. However, major concern surrounds Andreas Pereira after a heavy blow.
According to Nosso Palestra, the midfielder is in significant pain and is a doubt for upcoming matches. The squad arrived back in São Paulo overnight and he will undergo examinations during the day to assess the damage.
At 25 minutes into the second half, he was caught by a knee from Zé Ricardo, who was dismissed following a VAR review. Palmeiras’ number eight was taken off soon after.
On officiating, Anderson read out the handball law and maintained a goal in the match should have been allowed when an accidental attacking handball occurred earlier in the move by a different player.
He argued Palmeiras were left at a disadvantage and questioned who would answer for the two points he felt were lost in Belém. He cited the CBF, Rodrigo Cintra and Péricles Bassols, and described a glaring VAR error that harmed Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras.
