England international Angel Gomes has announced he's leaving Lille on a free this summer.
The 24-year-old joined Lille from Manchester United back in 2020, though he spent his first season out on loan with Boavista in Portugal. Since then, he’s racked up 134 appearances for the French side.
His strong form in Ligue 1 even earned him four England caps last year, picked by interim boss Lee Carsley.
But after being a regular starter in previous seasons, Gomes has struggled for game time lately - starting only 10 league matches and making just 14 appearances in total this campaign.
Gomes wrote on Instagram: "After four unforgettable years at LOSC Lille, it's time for me to say goodbye.
"This club has been more than just a team - it's been a family, a home, and a place that has shaped me both on and off the pitch.
"Like any journey, there were ups and downs, highs and lows, but I'm truly grateful to my team-mates and the fans for sticking with me throughout."
