Spanish daily AS writes that, with Cristiano Ronaldo injured, Ângelo is seen as the main stand-in and team leader. The piece highlighted his impact at Al-Nassr since joining in September 2024.

Since arriving, he has played 70 games, scoring eight goals with 17 assists.

Santos sold Ângelo to Chelsea in July 2023, and the Brazilian club earned about R$ 8.5 million from his subsequent move to Saudi Arabia. Barcelona held priority to match the offer at the time but did not exercise it.

Earlier in 2023, Nottingham Forest made a proposal that stalled over instalment terms, and Flamengo’s bid was turned down by the player. He was a regular for Brazil’s youth teams.

With Santos, he became the youngest scorer in Libertadores history at 16 years, three months and 16 days, in a 3-1 away win at San Lorenzo. Among Brazilians, he was the youngest to play in the competition at 16 years, two months and 16 days, in a 2-1 victory over Deportivo Lara.

He was the second youngest to debut for Santos, at 15 years, 10 months and four days, surpassing Pelé, with Coutinho first on that list. Overall, he made 129 appearances and scored five goals for the club.

He did not feature for Chelsea’s first team and spent a loan spell at Strasbourg, recording 25 appearances and four assists without scoring. He later returned to Brazil on holiday before sealing his switch to Al-Nassr.
