Anthony Gordon has opened up about the support he received from Marcus Rashford after completing his move to Barcelona, revealing that the former Barcelona loanee played a key role in helping him prepare for life at the Camp Nou.
The latest Barcelona news comes after Gordon completed his switch from Newcastle United to the Catalan giants earlier this summer.
The England international has inherited the place previously occupied by Rashford, whose successful loan spell under Hansi Flick came to an end after Barcelona decided not to trigger the €30 million purchase option agreed with Manchester United.
Speaking during a recent media outing, Gordon admitted that Rashford reached out after the transfer was completed and has remained an important source of advice.
The Barcelona summer signing explained that Rashford contacted him as soon as the move became official and has been helping him adapt before he even arrives in Catalonia.

“He congratulated me as soon as he saw me. He’s helped me a great deal. I’m looking for a place to live, and he’s given me information about the club, which is really useful as I haven’t been there yet.
“It’s difficult for me because all my attention is focused here, and he’s helped me a lot,” he said, as per Mundo Deportivo.
Although Anthony Gordon’s Barcelona transfer effectively saw him replace Rashford in the squad, the winger made it clear that he has nothing but admiration for his England teammate.
Gordon described Rashford as someone who is often unfairly judged from the outside and insisted his personality does not match the public perception.
“He’s misunderstood”, Gordon said before adding that Rashford is a humble person, “almost like a child”.

He continued, “He loves playing football. He’s always on the ball, doing some touch-and-go drills and that sort of thing.
“A lovely lad, well-mannered, from a good family, as far as I know.”
The England winger also acknowledged that competing for a starting place is simply part of top-level football and believes the rivalry between them remains completely healthy.
“We’re competing for a place and that’s just how football is. At the top level, there’s always going to be that, and it usually works in my favour, so I’ve got no problem with it, and I’m sure he doesn’t either,” he concluded.
