Antoine Semenyo’s imminent future at Bournemouth has become a hot topic of discussion after the emergence of a release clause.

During the summer transfer window, Semenyo attracted interest from several clubs, including Manchester United, before signing a new contract until 2030 at Vitality Stadium.

However, the Cherries may lose their talisman as early as January, as Semenyo’s suitors can sign him mid-season for £65m, including £5m in add-ons. As per Fabrizio Romano, the said clause will drop to around £50m at the end of the campaign.

Romano claims that Bournemouth would love to keep the Ghana international at the club at least until June. However, United have different plans.

Manchester United keen to sign Semenyo

According to Fichajes, United view Semenyo as their “top priority target” heading into the winter transfer window.

United are believed to be his “most likely destination” as the Premier League giants are prepared to make a considerable offer.

The Red Devils want to secure the 25-year-old’s signature “as soon as possible” amid increasing competition.

It is added that the Ghanaian winger is tempted by an opportunity to make a significant career leap and move to Old Trafford.

Semenyo would be a phenomenal addition for Man United

United spent heavily on attacking reinforcements over the summer. Still, their frontline remains thin and a recent injury to Benjamin Sesko has left Ruben Amorim with plenty to ponder

Over the last 18 months, Semenyo has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent performers.

The London-born star was directly involved in 20 goals across all competitions under Andoni Iraola last term. This season, he already has six goals and three assists to his name in the Premier League.

The Bournemouth star has the ability to bring dynamism and flair to the United squad. Further, his versatility would allow Amorim to use him in a number of positions, including at left wing-back.
