Sevilla have accelerated their summer rebuild under Antonio Cordón, but pursuits of Grischa Prömel and Eduard Spertsyan have stalled.
TransferFeed reports that Spertsyan has said a LaLiga move would pay less than half his current salary in Russia, citing Elche’s offer. Meanwhile, Florian Plettenberg says Prömel has accepted Stuttgart’s proposal and will sign until June 2031 after leaving Hoffenheim.
Sevilla have already committed around 6 million euros to sign Patrick Mercado, an agreement announced by Sevilla and Independiente del Valle on their official websites. They beat competition from Chelsea, the latest UEFA Conference League winners after defeating Real Betis in the final.
Attention has also turned to low-cost opportunities, with Getafe right-back Juan Iglesias viewed as a free transfer option and, at present, expected to arrive without a fee. The approach prioritises smart additions over heavy outlay.
Spertsyan, 25, is a creative Armenia international and Krasnodar captain with a reported market value of 25 million euros. His flair suits Sevilla’s search for invention, but his defensive work is considered a weakness. Given his wage stance, Cordón will need to revisit targets.
