Are Austin FC the most disappointing team in MLS this season? 🫣 | OneFootball

Austin FC are a team with high expectations in the MLS Western Conference after spending plenty of money to build an attacking juggernaut in recent seasons. 

Since the 2025 offseason, the Texas club have spent over $30M on the attacking trio of Myrto Uzuni, Brandon Vazquez, and Facundo Torres. 

Yet after losing at home to basement dwellers Sporting KC, who are on pace for a historically bad MLS season this evening, Austin have slipped to 13th in the conference, and 24th in the league. 

Just three days ago, Austin fell 5-0 to San Diego, and have not won in MLS since beating 14th placed St. Louis; just their third win 14 league matches this season. 

Austin will play that very St. Louis team once more next weekend in their last chance to pick up points before the World Cup break. 

While MLS is a forgiving league that allows for slow starts, the Verde could just be slipping into a crisis.
