Rodolfo Arruabarrena has begun pruning Boca’s squad and is working to rehabilitate sidelined players, with Chilean forward Carlos Palacios the most urgent case after a half-season without minutes. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the emphasis is on restoring sharpness and availability from within.

After six months training apart, Palacios rejoined full sessions at Ezeiza at the end of the semester and has started pre-season the same way. He is working at high intensity under Vasco’s watch, with the aim of lifting his level to bolster the attack.

With immediate results demanded, the staff have mapped out a plan to recondition important pieces who drifted to the margins, some through injury. The board, which backed Palacios on signing, scrutinised his long absence, and he is now immersed in tactical drills with notable rigour for the demanding calendar ahead.

For Arruabarrena, regaining individual threat in the final third is a clear priority. The approach is a progressive but firm footballing readaptation so that Palacios reaches the restart in optimal shape, becoming an internal reinforcement. If that does not happen, he could depart in this transfer window.

Palacios is not the only focus. Creative midfielders Kevin Zenón and Alan Velasco are also being pushed to recover their best form, Zenón for his box to box dynamism and Velasco for the dribbling that unlocks tight blocks. Zenón was relegated last semester, and if this trio hit peak condition, Boca believe they need not scour the market and the team will make an undeniable step up.
