Gabriel Martinelli spoke to the media on Monday ahead of Arsenal’s midweek match against Paris Saint-Germain.
The two teams are facing off in the Champions League semi-finals, and the Brazilian winger answered a question about whether these games are the biggest of his life.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s a dream to be here,” Martinelli said. “Since I started to play football when I was five, six, I had this dream to be playing in the Champions League. And to be in a semi-final, it’s amazing.
“We deserve to be here, it’s a dream. And we’re ready.”

Martinelli seems to be hitting form at the right time, scoring two goals in his last three matches including one against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 23-year-old has scored nine goals and assisted six in all competitions this season, which is an improvement on 2023/24 but still six goals short of his best campaign in 2022/23.
But any questions about the winger’s goalscoring form in the last couple of seasons will be forgotten if Arsenal win the Champions League. That would mean instant hero status for everyone involved, and that starts with trying to beat PSG on Tuesday night.

“It’s a great game and everyone that loves football would love to be playing these kinds of games,” Martinelli added. “We’re going to enjoy the moment.
“The club has never won this title and the club deserves to have it.”
