Arsenal have completed the loan signing of Chloe Kelly from Manchester City.
Kelly started her career with the Gunners, making her debut aged 17 in 2015 and going onto make 16 appearances, scoring five goals, and now returns to North London on a deal until the end of the season.
The forward had been a key player for City since her move from Everton in 2020, but has struggled for game time this season amid rumours about her future with her contract up in four months.
In total, she made 109 appearances for City, scoring 31 times.
Kelly had taken to Instagram earlier on Thursday to publicly state her disappointment at the now-resolved situation.
She said: "With the Euros fast approaching, this summer is a huge one and I want to be in a position to give it my best shot to represent my country."
"However, to be dictated whom I can and can't join with only four months left of the football season is having a huge impact on not only my career by my mental wellbeing.
"The situation has been dragged on for too long, it's disappointing and not right."
The 27-year-old scored the only goal in the final against Germany as the Lionesses won the 2022 European Championships, and remains a key player for Sarina Wiegmann.
As fate would have it, Arsenal's next two fixtures are against City in the WSL and in the League Cup, where Kelly could make her second debut for the club if allowed.
If not, she will hope to debut against London City in the FA Cup on February 9.
