Arsenal’s search for attacking reinforcements has taken another intriguing twist, with reports indicating that Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa is on the club’s radar. As per CaughtOffside, discussions with RB Leipzig over Benjamin Sesko could now also open the door to a move for Nusa, with sources suggesting that the Gunners are “monitoring closely” and could make a move if the opportunity arises.
The 20-year-old only signed for Leipzig last summer but has already made a strong impression, contributing nine goals and seven assists across all competitions for both club and country in the 2024/25 season. His adaptability across attacking midfield positions and ability to perform under pressure have seen him attract attention from a cluster of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Everton and Napoli.
Yet it is Arsenal who seem poised to capitalise on Leipzig’s possible openness to negotiation.
The former Club Brugge starlet already boasts 137 senior appearances and 15 caps for Norway. His combination of top-flight experience and youthful flair is exactly the type of profile Mikel Arteta has favoured in his squad building. According to one insider quoted by CaughtOffside, “no formal moves have been made” but the player is “being monitored closely”.

Importantly, CaughtOffside reports that while “Arsenal appreciate Nusa,” their current “priority in talks with Leipzig is to finally get the signing of Sesko over the line.” Once that saga concludes, Nusa could well become the next domino to fall.
Should the Gunners move forward, they may need to act swiftly. Although Leipzig value Nusa at €45 million, that fee could rise quickly in a competitive market. As we’ve seen in past windows, Arsenal have not shied away from investing significantly when they believe the fit is right.
For Arsenal, Nusa could offer an instant upgrade over Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, both of whom have struggled with consistency. His direct running, technical ability, and vision in the final third would bring a dynamic new dimension to the left flank.
As CaughtOffside notes, “Arsenal need someone with his skill and eye for goal from out wide.” With Bukayo Saka an automatic starter on the right, adding competition and rotation options on the opposite wing could be crucial in a season where squad depth will again define success.
Chelsea are also in the frame, but their situation is less stable. With Jadon Sancho’s loan spell concluded and other recent winger signings like Mykhailo Mudryk and Pedro Neto underperforming, Nusa represents a fresh alternative. Still, Arsenal’s project under Arteta may provide a more compelling platform for a young talent to thrive.
Given the dual interest in Sesko and Nusa, Arsenal could potentially negotiate a favourable package deal or staggered agreements. Leipzig may be more open to compromise if Arsenal can table appealing offers for both players, particularly if the German side are willing to reshuffle their squad after an underwhelming season.
Importantly, no deal has yet been agreed and as it stands, Nusa remains a Leipzig player. But in a market where attacking options are scarce, the Gunners’ proactive approach could be key.
From the perspective of an Arsenal supporter, this news is genuinely exciting. Antonio Nusa is a name that’s flown slightly under the radar in England, but his performances in Germany and with Norway have caught the eye of many continental scouts. That the club is even considering such a move during the Sesko talks speaks volumes about Edu and Arteta’s transfer strategy. They’re looking for multi-dimensional players with proven versatility and work ethic, and Nusa fits that mould to perfection.
Imagine having Bukayo Saka terrorising defences on the right, with Nusa doing the same from the left. That’s a front line with pace, power and unpredictability. It also raises the standard for Martinelli, who has shown flashes but needs a serious competitor for his position.
Furthermore, €45 million is steep but far from unreasonable in this inflated market, particularly for a player who’s only going to improve. His international experience and tactical flexibility suggest he wouldn’t need long to adapt to Arteta’s system. If Arsenal can wrap up Sesko and then make a decisive move for Nusa, it could be one of the most exciting summer windows since the arrival of Jesus and Zinchenko.
Arsenal are building something serious. If Nusa joins this young, hungry squad, the sky really could be the limit.
