Arsenal duo Leah Williamson and Michelle Agyemang have picked up individual club awards this week following a successful domestic season that led to Champions League glory.
After such a successful 2024/25 campaign, Leah Williamson has picked up the Golden Player Woman prize.
The award was voted on by panels of European football experts and icons of the past.
Williamson enjoyed a career best year for Arsenal as the Gunners were crowned champions of Europe for a second time.
Arsenal’s captain featured in 19 WSL games last season and proved to be one of the most consistent defenders in England once again.
The 28-year-old then jetted off to Switzerland where once again she captained her team to another major title.
Williamson featured in every game at Euro 2025 as England were crowned champions for a second consecutive tournament.
After such a successful campaign for both club and country, Williamson was named in the FIFPRO World XI before being awarded Tuttosport’s Golden Player Woman.
Williamson is yet to feature for Arsenal this season as she continues to recover from a knee injury that ruled her out at the start of the campaign.
There weren’t many youngsters who enjoyed a better campaign than Michelle Agyemang last season.
The 19-year-old was loaned out to Brighton for the year where she enjoyed a breakout season in the WSL.
Agyemang really broke onto the scene at Euro 2025 though, as she was called upon on two occasions to save the Lionesses from certain elimination.
Two late knockout goals at the competition were pivotal to England’s eventual success and as a result the teenager won young player of the tournament.
Agyemang has now picked up her second individual award of the year after being named Europe’s Golden Girl.
The exciting talent was loaned back to Brighton at the start of this season where she scored one in five WSL games.
After such a promising start to her career, Michelle Agyemang ruptured her ACL in a friendly for England last month which has ruled her out for the season.
Agyemang and Williamson’s awards were historic ones, as the duo became the first English stars to pick up the prizes.
