Arsenal fans have given their enthusiastic stamp of approval to a new chant honouring star forward Kai Havertz. The catchy tune, set to the melody of Afroman’s “Because I Got High”, celebrates the German’s remarkable turnaround at the Emirates.

Havertz initially struggled after his £63m transfer from Chelsea, enduring criticism from fans and pundits alike. However, he has silenced his detractors, becoming a pivotal player in Mikel Arteta‘s title-contending squad. The 24-year-old’s 12th Premier League goal of the season helped secure a crucial 3-2 victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, extending Arsenal’s lead atop the table.

The chant, created by comedian and actor Johnny Cochrane, begins: “We finished runners-up but then we got Kai. Now we’re back on the up because we’ve got Kai. We’re gonna win the league and I know why, hey, hey. Because we got Kai, because got Kai, because we Kai.”

The clip quickly gained traction on social media, drawing hilarious reactions from Arsenal supporters.

In his last 11 Premier League appearances, Havertz has scored eight goals and provided five assists. His ability to influence games was especially notable in the match against Spurs, where he scored and assisted in the first half—an achievement not seen since Patrick Vieira.

Havertz has found his stride under Mikel Arteta’s guidance. Feeling increasingly at home at Arsenal, Havertz’s recent performances reflect his growing comfort and connection with the team, making him a key player in Arsenal’s campaign for the Premier League

Arsenal’s first-half display against Tottenham saw Bukayo Saka and an own goal from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg add to Havertz’s tally. The German’s strike proved decisive despite Tottenham’s late ‘fightback’ through an Arsenal error and a penalty.

The Gunners remain in the hunt for their first Premier League title since 2004, but will need Manchester City to falter while maintaining their own winning form. They face Bournemouth next at the Emirates, followed by a trip to Manchester United and then the final game against Everton at The Emirates.
