Arsenal forward Noni Madueke could miss FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton and Sporting CP trip | OneFootball

Arsenal could be without Noni Madueke for their next two games, according to The Athletic.

The Gunners star picked up a knock while on international duty last Friday and the Emirates Stadium club are sweating over his fitness in a potential blow to manager Mikel Arteta.

Madueke sustained a knee injury against Uruguay and was seen leaving the stadium with a knee brace on his left leg.

The Arsenal attacker also picked up a knock during an accidental collision in training two days before the Carabao Cup final, eventually leaving Wembley with a significant strapping on his left wrist after playing the game with a cast.

The North Londoners resume action on Saturday with a trip to St Mary’s Stadium for their FA Cup quarter-final game against Southampton.

They travel to Portugal to take on Sporting CP in the first-leg of their quarter-final tie of the Champions League next Tuesday (April 7) afterwards and Madueke is likely to be fit for the game.

However, the 24-year-old could be available for their next Premier League against Bournemouth on April 11 at the Emirates.

The likes of Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Magalhaes, Eberechi Eze, William Saliba, Martin Zubimendi, Piero Hincapie, Leandro Trossard, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka also pulled out of international duty due to various degrees of knocks.

Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard are also currently unavailable due to injuries but the Norwegian midfielder is expected to return very soon.

Arsenal will be desperate to win the Premier League title having led their rivals at the top of the table for the majority of the season.

They need a fit squad to get the job done and Arteta will be praying for some good news.

He needs his key players fit for the two quarter-finals ahead and the remaining seven league fixtures, and Madueke and co will be eager to return sooner rather than later.
