Arsenal have discussed signing Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners recently announced the signing of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge as a replacement for Leandro Trossard.

Torres, alongside Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, have both emerged in Arsenal’s recent transfer talks.

However, the price has to be right for Arsenal to make any concrete move for either of the World Cup winners.

William Saliba’s injury has also left them with no choice but to make centre-back signings this summer.

Real Madrid’s Raul Asencio has also been linked with the Gunners. The Spaniard is currently surplus to requirements at Madrid and could look to move on this summer.

Asencio, who made 34 appearances last term, can also feature at right-back.

Torres has been linked with a move away from Barca, and a return to England could appeal to him.

He previously played for Manchester City before signing for Barcelona in 2021.

The 26-year-old scored the winning goal for Spain against Argentina in the World Cup final last Sunday.

The Gunners target can play across the front line, and his versatility would be appealing to manager Mikel Arteta.
