Arsenal have moved to jump in ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign 21-year-old Como centre back Jacobo Ramon this summer.

That is according to the latest report out on this story earlier this week, with Chelsea apparently showing an interest in the young defender not so long ago.

But now, Arsenal are looking to trump The Blues in the market and are stepping up their interest in the sought-after centre back who has been making a real name for himself this season playing under Cesc Fabregas in Serie A.

His development has been fast, and it seems that it is paying off as he attracts interest from some of the best clubs around the world.

An exclusive report from Caught Offside suggests Chelsea have been linked with Ramon in recent times and this latest report claims they are still considering him as one of a number of options to strengthen their defence this summer.

But their ‘well-connected sources’ now say Arsenal are stepping up their interest as well in an attempt to trump Chelsea.
