Martin Odegaard becomes the first Arsenal captain since Patrick Vieira to lift the Premier League trophy
Arsenal have lifted the Premier League trophy for the first time in 22 years.
The Gunners’ Premier League title-winning moment came on Tuesday evening as they were officially crowned champions after Manchester City could only draw away at Bournemouth.
That result sparked wild scenes, both in north London outside the Emirates Stadium and at the club’s training base as while thousands of fans celebrated in N5, the players and staff did similar together at London Colney.
Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze and Jurrien Timber then made the trip to the stadium at around 5am to take in more of the celebrations.
However, the moment all connected to Arsenal have been waiting for was delayed until Sunday and following the last Premier League fixture of the season against Crystal Palace.
Prior to kick-off at Selhurst Park, the Palace players give the Arsenal players a guard of honour.
Then Gabriel Jesus and Noni Madueke gave the champions a 2-0 lead, which was halved by Jean-Philippe Mateta in the closing stages before Yeremy Pino was denied an equaliser in stoppage-time by an offside flag.

Ultimately the game ended with Martin Odegaard lifting the Premier League trophy for Arsenal, with the Gunners back on top of English football for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
There could yet be more celebrations as Mikel Arteta’s side still have the chance to win the Champions League for the first time.
