Victor Osimhen has a break clause in his Galatasaray loan deal that would make him available in January, if Arsenal are interested.

Charles Watts reports that Victor Osimhen appears to have a break clause in his loan to Galatasaray that would allow another club to sign him in January for less than his original release clause with Napoli.

Osimhen’s release clause of €120-130m has reportedly been reduced to around €75m for next summer, though it’s unclear whether that would also be the asking price in January.

It might not matter, with Watts suggesting he doesn’t believe Arsenal will make a January move, with no word of Arsenal interest in Osimhen since the summer of 2022.

The Gunners went on to sign Gabriel Jesus in 2022, then Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard in 2023. If there hasn’t been any word of interest in Osimhen since then, it’s possible Arsenal are no longer seriously in the running.

As well as Arsenal, the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and teams in Saudi Arabia were all linked with a move this summer. Yet no one offered the money Napoli wanted.

Fabrizio Romano claims Arsenal were offered Osimhen for €120-130m in June, but they immediately turned the chance down.

When nothing else worked out, Osimhen ultimately decided to join Galatasaray in a temporary move until June 2025, with Napoli refusing to reintegrate him into their squad.

The break clause in the deal means there will probably be a lot more speculation during the January transfer window. Osimhen has also been helping to fuel the gossip with a goal for Nigeria over the international break and an assist on his Galatasaray debut.

It’s just not currently looking likely Arsenal will be ready to spend big on the 25-year-old in the winter window.
