Mikel Arteta says Arsenal have revamped the tunnel at Emirates Stadium as part of their ambition to “generate the best atmosphere in the world”.

Arteta has been a big driver in changing the atmosphere at the Emirates ever since he was hired six years ago.

The club have duly looked at ways to improve the atmosphere, the latest of which has been tweaking the tunnel.

The Emirates’ tunnel previously had a cover over it, but that has now been removed so the fans are closer to the players as they walk out.

“Obviously us as a club, we always the ambition to generate the best atmosphere in the world at the Emirates,” said Arteta.

“We have the best supporters in the world and now we have to facilitate everything. The team has to give the right feelings to our supporters every time we play in front of them.

“We need to develop, as well, the stadium in the manner that we want and we need to ignite that will that we have to play every single ball with us, because it makes such a difference.

“We want to play and win the things that we want to win, that’s a non-negotiable, you need to have a stadium that is able to create those moments, for sure.”

Arteta will be hoping for a good atmosphere on Wednesday night, when Arsenal host Olympiacos in their first home Champions League game of the season.
