Arsenal are prepared to make a formal approach for one of Juventus’ best players this summer, according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve.
The Gunners are expected to bolster their striking department at the end of the season, and reports claim that they could return for their long-term target.
Dusan Vlahovic was heavily linked with a move to north London during his spell at Fiorentina, but he opted to continue in Serie A with Juventus in 2022.
This has not ended the speculation regarding his future. Arsenal are now ready to capitalise with his Bianconeri contract expiring in less than 16 months.
The Gunners are ‘ready to move’ for the 25-year-old and could offer £25m for his services.
The Bianconeri could ask for more, but the contract situation means they cannot demand more.
The 25-year-old was one of the most sought-after strikers in world football during his time in Florence.
He netted 34 goals in a calendar year, and there were comparisons between him and Erling Haaland.
However, his career has not peaked since his move to Turin. He has netted only 55 goals from 135 appearances across all competitions for Juventus.
Vlahovic started the current season in bright fashion but has managed only 14 goals and two assists from 33 appearances under new manager Thiago Motta.
He has been guilty of missing 13 big chances in Serie A alone. We are not convinced that the Serbian would be an upgrade on Kai Havertz or Gabriel Jesus.
Vlahovic would be a useful signing as a deputy striker, but Arsenal need to recruit someone with a better goalscoring rate to become the regular number nine.
