Arsenal are interested in Monaco’s versatile attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche (23), according to a report from L’Equipe. Les Monégasques have made no mystery of the fact that the France U21 international is on his way out this summer after a remarkable season on the Riviera. The attacking midfielder is valued by the Principality club at a fee in the region of €70m.
Several Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, have reportedly made their interest known. But a major Premier League side has now joined the race too, in Arsenal.
The outlet adds that the Gunners are close to reaching a verbal agreement with Viktor Gyökeres‘ agent Hasan Cetinkaya, who also represents Akliouche. The North London side is on the market for a wide player to bring competition to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, and Akliouche reportedly is high up on Arsenal’s wishlist. L’Equipe understands that Atalanta Bergamo’s Ademola Lookman could be a cheaper option than Akliouche. The former Everton winger is valued at €50m.
