Belgium suffered their third defeat of the Nations League campaign against Italy last night.
The Red Devils have had a tough run of results under head coach Domenico Tedesco and produced another lacklustre performance at home to the Azzurri.
Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has struggled with his form lately, and he was once again disappointing. The 29-year-old won just three out of nine duels contested.
He made 44 passes with an accuracy of 81 percent, but lost possession on 18 occasions. He provided one accurate cross, which almost created the equaliser. Wout Faes hit the woodwork with his header.
Trossard has been a key player for the Gunners since his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023. However, his performances have dipped.
The Belgian has been impressive with his goal contributions off the bench for the Gunners, but he has lacked the same impact when picked from the starting line-up.
The return of Martin Odegaard from injury could be a blessing in disguise for Trossard. The Gunners captain is expected to cement his number 10 position going forward.
Trossard is more likely to feature off the bench as a result, which could bring out the best in him. He has largely built his reputation at Arsenal as a super sub.
The form of the £29 million-rated star is a worry for Arsenal. Manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping that he can find his form and confidence during the festive schedule.
