FC Bayern are working flat out on their squad for the coming season. Before the Munich club decided on their current dream players, a large number of candidates were examined intensively. One of them was Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli. In the meantime, however, a clear opinion seems to have prevailed at the record champions
FC Bayern’s transfer plans have been underway for months and, as with all top European clubs, an extensive list of potential new arrivals is drawn up before those responsible focus on specific candidates
Numerous players were analyzed and evaluated for the attack in particular, with Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal FC being one of the most prominent names on the shortlist
The Brazilian international has been regarded as one of the most interesting wingers in the Premier League for years, and his dynamism, goalscoring ability and flexibility make him a profile that appeals to many top clubs
During Thomas Tuchel’s tenure, Martinelli is said to have already been discussed internally as a possible Bayern candidate, which is one of the reasons why his situation in London has been closely monitored over a longer period of time

According to the latest information, however, a move to Munich seems increasingly unlikely. As Bayern insider Christian Falk reports, the prevailing opinion within the club is that Martinelli is not the preferred solution for the left side of the attack
The Arsenal professional is said to be available for a transfer fee of around 45 million euros and would therefore be significantly cheaper than numerous other top international players
Nevertheless, the priorities at Säbener Straße have apparently shifted and those in charge want to focus on other personnel and are pursuing a slightly different strategy than a few months ago
Instead of relying on established stars, the focus is currently on players with great potential who are capable of development
Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown are currently at the center of the plans, with both players considered to be concrete options for the coming season
FC Bayern would like to strengthen its attack with Saibari, the Moroccan from PSV Eindhoven, who impresses with his versatility and could take on several roles in the attacking play
Brown, on the other hand, is the preferred solution for the left side of defence. The Munich club is said to have already reached an agreement in principle with the Frankfurt native. Talks are currently underway between the clubs regarding the transfer fee
Only once these two personnel matters have been finalized will further transfer targets be examined more closely. There is also another important factor: the financial situation
FC Bayern would first like to generate further income before making additional investments. The first sale of Daniel Peretz has already been completed, which according to media reports has earned the Munich club around eight million euros. Bayern have also already been able to save on salary costs
Further sales are to follow in order to create additional room for maneuver on the transfer market. Only then could the list of potential new arrivals be expanded again
For Gabriel Martinelli, this currently means one thing above all: although he was on FC Bayern’s shortlist for a long time and is highly regarded internally, the Arsenal star is clearly not currently one of the German record champions‘ priorities.
