Arsenal plan to offer William Saliba an improved new contract to ward off interest in the defender from Real Madrid.
The Spanish side are long-term admirers of Saliba and are monitoring the player’s situation in North London. Saliba’s current contract runs until 2027 and he has been earmarked by Real Madrid as a potential option in the upcoming windows.
Arsenal are aware of the interest from Real Madrid and want to secure Saliba’s future. Footmercato are reporting that the Gunners will offer the 24-year-old a new five-year contract in a bid to commit Saliba’s best seasons to the club.
Saliba has evolved into one of Europe’s leading centre-backs at the Emirates. Across the last three seasons, he has earned three consecutive inclusions in the PFA Team of the Year.
The defender is one of several Premier League centre-backs that Real Madrid are tracking. Xabi Alonso’s side also have interest in Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate and Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, each of whom are out of contract in 2026. Real Madrid will be free to approach either player on a pre-contract agreement in January.
