Daniel Farke admits rampant Gunners had all the answers in Elland Road rout

Daniel Farke hailed Arsenal as Europe's best side and worthy favourites in the Premier League title race.

Leeds were beaten at home for only the third time this season as the Gunners eased to a 4-0 win at Elland Road.

Farke's side struggled to cope with Arsenal's aerial dominance and were then cut apart in the second half as the visitors brought on the likes of Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

Reflecting on the match, Farke admitted there was little to overthink about Leeds' defeat as Arsenal "always had answers".

"Of course, we were also realistic before," the German said. "We faced the best side currently in Europe.

"There are reasons why this team is sitting on the top of the table in the Premier League and why this team is the best team currently in Europe with eight wins out of eight Champions League games.

"And of course, you need a perfect day in order to give yourself a chance, and also a bit of luck that this side is then perhaps not there with their best day, and not super effective.

"But today, sadly, we didn't have our very best day, and they were on it from the first to the last second, and for that they deserve to win this game, and we have to accept their quality today.

"They were better, and for that there's not too much to overinterpret into this game. Whatever we did, they always had answers."

Arsenal now sit seven points clear at the top of the Premier League, at least until Manchester City and Aston Villa play Tottenham and Brentford respectively on Sunday.

Asked if he thought Arsenal would go on to win the league, Farke replied: "That's difficult to say.

"It's just obvious that if you are top of the league after this many games, there are reasons for it. You deserve it. In Europe and in the Premier League.

"For that at the moment they have the best possible solution. But it's also important to keep the nerves in the run-in and to show this consistency also when Champions League games will be on."
