Arsenal Urged to Pursue Man Utd’s £100M-Rated Outcast as PSG, Saudi Move Unlikely | OneFootball

Rúben Amorim’s decision to leave Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of Manchester United’s squad for last Sunday’s derby against Manchester City has sparked speculation about Rashford’s future at the club.

TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook reports that Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad are keeping an eye on Rashford’s situation following his omission from the matchday squad. However, TBR Football mentions that while Saudi clubs are still interested in Rashford, the player has made it clear he has no intention of moving to the Middle East.

In Europe, Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic notes that Paris Saint-Germain are not currently pursuing Rashford. Melissa Reddy of Sky Sports adds that no clubs are actively targeting the forward at the moment, citing concerns over his recent form, off-field behavior, and high wage demands.

Arsenal have been mentioned as one of the clubs interested in bidding for Rashford, and the ex-Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna believes he would be a great fit at the Emirates.

“I would love to see Marcus Rashford at Arsenal,” Sagna said (h/t The Mirror). “I think if you added Rashford to Arsenal’s attack, with the pace that he has, Arsenal would destroy the opposition. Adding Rashford to an extremely talented squad would be a frightening prospect for Arsenal’s rivals. Rashford is so quick.

“I think Arsenal having Rashford would enable Arsenal to have more variety in attack and I would love to see Gabriel Jesus and Marcus Rashford in the same team, pressing with so much intensity. Rashford joining Arsenal would be a wonderful signing for the club and a real statement of ambition.

“He hasn’t been at his best, but when that happens you need support and a good environment to bring you back to your best level. You need your teammates and your manager to lift you up. You need people to believe in you.”

Nonetheless, former United striker Teddy Sheringham has urged Ratcliffe to make it even more difficult for him to depart by placing a £100 million price tag on him.

“Oh, you’ve got to be talking £100m,” Sheringham told Express Sport. “I’m very surprised that there’s talk about him leaving United. I think Man Utd need to keep their best players and get them working to the best of their capabilities. So I’d be very surprised if Marcus leaves.”
