Gunners strong favourites to reach fourth round
Arsenal host Bolton this week as their Carabao Cup campaign begins.
While Mikel Arteta no doubt has bigger things in mind this season - especially with this game coming just three days after a thrilling and dramatic 2-2 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League - the collection of more silverware can hardly be a bad thing.
Domestic cup competitions have proven something of a second thought for Arteta in recent seasons as they attempt to end a 20-year wait for the title but winning the FA Cup so early into his tenure is arguably what kept him in a job during the early few months of his spell in charge.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game.
Arsenal vs Bolton is scheduled for a 7.45pm BST kick-off time on Wednesday 25 September, 2024.

Arsenal will be without the suspended Leandro Trossard, who serves a one-match ban for picking up two yellow cards in the draw at Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta will be very tempted to make plenty of changes given his squad's relentless schedule - which has featured three very tough away trips.
Ben White should come in after being a substitute against City, but may be one of only a few senior teams. That means the likes of Jakub Kiwior, Ayden Heaven, Ethan Nwaneri, Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand and Myles Lewis-Skelly could all be afforded starts.

Arteta may end up prioritising other tournaments but it’s difficult to see the Gunners losing at home to a team in League One no matter what side they put out.
