A defining weekend in the Premier League title race, potentially, is upon us as Arsenal take on Bournemouth in today's early kick-off. The Gunners, as things stand, are nine points clear at the top of table and have the chance to stretch that lead to 12 before Manchester City face Chelsea tomorrow afternoon.
With the top two set to meet at the Etihad Stadium next weekend, this is a must-win fixture for Mikel Arteta's side as they bid to prove they can cope under pressure. Eberechi Eze has handed Arsenal a surprise fitness boost by returning earlier than expected from injury, but it remains to be seen if Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori are all absent.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, are the division's draw specialists with six of their last seven matches ending in a stalemate. The Cherries are unbeaten in the league since losing the reverse fixture back in January and won here in the corresponding fixture last season. Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori are not involved for Arsenal against Bournemouth this afternoon because of injury.
Both players started Arsenal’s 1-0 Champions League quarter-final first leg win over Sporting CP on Tuesday night, but are not in the matchday squad for today’s lunchtime kick-off at the Emirates Stadium.
It remains to be seen if either player will be available for selection against Sporting in the second leg next week or the potential Premier League title-decider away at Manchester City.

Interesting that it's Rice with the captain's armband this afternoon.
Gabriel has often been the one to do so when Odegaard and Saka are unavailable, but Arteta has decided to share it around.

Three changes to the Arsenal team that started in Lisbon on Tuesday night as Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard make way for Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli.
Odegaard and Calafiori not in the squad along with Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal once again without Odegaard, Saka and Timber, while Calafiori has seemingly picked up yet another injury problem. Just can't stay fit.
Better news is that Eze is back in the squad and a big afternoon for Lewis-Skelly. Just his second Premier League start of the campaign and it comes at a massive time of the season.
Needs to step up.
