Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of Ben White and Jurrien Timber for Saturday’s match with Leeds.

Mikel Arteta will hope to have one of the pair available, otherwise Cristhian Mosquera could be forced to make his Arsenal debut at right-back.

Mosquera is a centre-back by trade, but he has experience of playing as a right-back.

The German was absent from the opening training session on Wednesday and is currently being assessed.

Christian Norgaard was another absentee from midweek and he also missed the win at Old Trafford last weekend.

Arteta’s biggest selection headache is who starts at left-back. Riccardo Calafiori did well against Manchester United and scored, meaning he could get the nod over Myles Lewis-Skelly again.

Viktor Gyokeres should lead the line and make his home debut in the absence of Havertz, but the left flank spot feels up for grabs.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are both struggling for form, so that could open the door for Noni Madueke to make his full debut.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Gyokeres, Madueke

Injured: Jesus (knee)

Doubts: Havertz, Norgaard, Timber, White
