Arsenal may opt to stick, rather than twist, for today’s trip to face Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Arsenal became the first team in the Champions League history to score seven goals in away knockout match when they won 7-1 in Holland on Tuesday.

Manager Mikel Arteta may look to rest players for the second leg of the last-16 tie next week, but he will go strong at Old Trafford.

The Arsenal boss could name an unchanged side as he has no fresh injury concerns from the PSV win.

If Arteta is to make changes, then defence would be the most likely place for him to do so.

Riccardo Calafiori impressed off the bench against PSV and could come into the team at left-back over Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Ben White is also yet to start a game after returning from injury last month and is an option at right-back in place of Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal have been carefully managing White’s minutes after he had knee surgery in November and so he may be on the bench again.

The Gunners are still desperately short on attacking options as they are without four forwards due to injury.

Mikel Merino is expected to start as a No9 for the fourth game in a row and the midfielder has three goals in four games since moving up top.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard

Injured: Havertz (hamstring), Jesus (knee), Martinelli (hamstring), Saka (hamstring), Tomiyasu (knee)

Time and date: 4.30pm GMT on Sunday 9 March, 2025

Referee: Anthony Taylor
