Arsenal might be one of Europe’s elite clubs but they have not won the Women’s Super League (WSL) title since 2018-19.
The Gunners won the title by seven points to Manchester City in 2019, but have failed to win it since, with Chelsea winning six titles on the bounce.
Arsenal did win the Champions League last season, but the closest they have come to winning the WSL title is when they finished one point behind Chelsea in 2022.
The Gunners are already eight points behind Manchester City at the halfway stage of this campaign. So Renee Slegers’ side appear to have a slim chance of ending their wait for a title this season.
With that said, SheKicks takes a look at the 2018-19 Arsenal title-winning team, going with the XI that started in their 4-0 victory over Brighton, which sealed the league.
Former Netherlands international Sari van Veenedaal started the game against Brighton but did lose her place in the starting XI to Pauline Peyraud-Magnin during the 2018-19 season.
Van Veenendaal made 63 appearances for Arsenal but only played seven times in the WSL during the 2018-19 campaign.
She left for Atletico Madrid in 2019, before retiring from football in 2022 after two years at PSV.

Scottish full-back Lisa Evans played 87 times for Arsenal between 2017 and 2022.
The 33-year-old, who made 18 WSL appearances for Arsenal during their title-winning season, joined West Ham on loan in 2021, before making the move permanent a year later.
She left West Ham for Bristol City in January 2024, before returning to Glasgow City, where she started her career, later that same year.
England captain Leah Williamson is one of four players who started that day against Brighton who are still with the club.
The 28-year-old has made 248 appearances for Arsenal and won eight trophies for the Gunners, most recently, the Champions League back in May.
Williamson made her first start for Arsenal this season against Crystal Palace in the League Cup at the weekend, after returning from an injury which has kept her out since the Euro 2025 final.

Louise Quinn made 67 appearances for Arsenal between 2017 and 2020, 19 of which came in the WSL during the 2018-19 season.
After losing her place in the team, she joined Fiorentina in 2020 and then Birmingham City one year later.
Quinn announced her retirement from football in April 2025 at the age of 34, having not played since October 2024 due to a hip injury.
Danish full-back Katrine Veje joined Arsenal in the January transfer window of the 2018-19 season and made eight WSL appearances for Arsenal that campaign.
Veje would only make three appearances for the Gunners in the following campaign before joining FC Rosengard in 2020.
She returned to the WSL with Everton in 2022 and was then part of the Crystal Palace side that was relegated from the WSL last season.
Veje, now 34, joined Roma in the summer of 2025, where she has made 17 appearances already this season.
Dominque Janssen, formerly Bloodworth during Arsenal’s title-winning campaign, played 89 times for Arsenal between 2015 and 2019.
She played 19 times for Arsenal during their 2018-19 title-winning season, before joining VfL Wolfsburg that same summer.
Janssen now plays for Manchester United as a centre-back, making 50 appearances since her arrival in the summer of 2024.

Kim Little is one of Arsenal’s most successful players ever, winning five league titles across two spells at the club.
The Scottish midfielder scored eight goals for Arsenal during their 2018-19 title-winning season.
She is still an integral part of the Arsenal team today and has made 286 appearances in total for Arsenal.
Veteran Dutch midfielder Danielle van de Donk scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 19 WSL appearances for Arsenal during the 2018-19 campaign.
She scored 37 goals in 125 appearances in total for Arsenal before leaving for Lyon in the summer of 2021.
After four years with the French giants, she returned to the WSL with London City Lionesses this past summer, but is yet to play for the club, which recently sacked Jocelyn Precheur.
Katie McCabe is one of four Arsenal players who started when they last won the WSL title who are still with the Gunners.
The 30-year-old is still as important a player now as she was back in the 2018-19 campaign.
In total, McCabe has made 266 appearances for the Gunners and scored 34 goals.

Beth Mead is the final player who is still at Arsenal from their 2018-19 title-winning squad.
The England star scored seven goals and provided 12 assists for Arsenal during that campaign.
In total, she has netted 76 goals in 234 appearances since joining Arsenal in 2017. There will likely be rumours over her future next summer, after interest from the London City Lionesses this past summer.
Netherlands international Vivianne Miedema won the Golden Boot for the 2018-19 season, scoring 22 goals in 20 WSL appearances.
She also won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award for her exploits that season.
Miedema left Arsenal for Manchester City in 2024 and could win the WSL title with Andree Jeglertz’s side this season.
