Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shared the latest injury news ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace.

The Gunners are aiming to secure second place in the league and build momentum before facing Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League semi-final tie next Tuesday.

Arsenal eased past Ipswich Town with a 4-0 win at the weekend. However, winger Bukayo Saka was forced off during that match, raising concerns about his fitness.

However, Arteta has confirmed the issue is not serious and Saka could be in contention to face Palace tomorrow.

While Saka’s situation looks hopeful, Arteta delivered less positive news regarding Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho. Both players are unavailable for selection.

With the Champions League semi-final on the horizon, there were questions about whether Arteta would rest key players in midweek. He dismissed that idea.

We cannot think in those terms,” Arteta said. “When the players are fit and they are available and they want to play, they have to play.”

Jorginho’s season in doubt

Arteta admitted he is unsure whether Jorginho will feature again this season. The midfielder has been dealing with a difficult injury, and his return remains uncertain.

I hope so, but I’m not certain,” Arteta added. “So we have to see how he evolves in the next few days – I would say, a few weeks.

“So the doctor was still quite cautious about talking about any dates. So let’s see. The good news is that he’s improving – he’s feeling much better.

It was quite a scary situation, and he’s in a good place now.“

Arteta will be hoping Saka recovers quickly from his injury and regains fitness as the Gunners gear up for a pivotal week in their season.

Arsenal must continue their strong form against a Palace side who also have one eye on their FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa this weekend.
