Arthur wants to remain at Grêmio beyond his loan, but says Juventus are the biggest obstacle to any permanent deal. His loan runs until the end of June.

"Everyone knows I want to stay," he told Duda Garbi’s channel.

In December, president Odorico Roman and vice-president of football Antônio Dutra Jr met the midfielder at his home to discuss the situation and hear about dealings with Juventus. A purchase would require negotiation with the Italians, but the figure mentioned around the mid 2025 loan was considered beyond the club’s reach.

"It is not agreed with Grêmio, but everything with the club has felt natural. The hardest step is really Juventus, and there is no point thinking too much about the future and forgetting the present."

"Juventus did not want to set a purchase price, they left it open. Grêmio want to buy, they must speak to Juventus."

Grêmio tried to add a clause to extend the loan until December 2026, which Juventus rejected. Any longer loan would have required a renewal of Arthur’s Juventus contract, which runs to June 2027, and that has not happened.
