Aston Villa are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye, according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old is considered one of the best young prospects in Europe. He has featured in 26 games across all competitions this season, bagging one goal and two assists.

Mbaye broke into PSG’s first team in 2024 and went on to break Warren Zaire-Emery’s record as the youngest player to start a game for them.

He was part of the Senegal squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He featured six times during the competition, chipping in with one goal and two assists.

The Senegalese youngster has started just 10 games this term and could be open to leaving PSG next summer to secure regular playing time.

Villa are expected to face competition from other Premier League clubs. Champions League qualification could be key in the race to sign him.

Mbaye would be a good addition for Villa, given his potential and versatility.

However, PSG are not prepared to sell the youngster. He is under contract with the Parisians until 2028, potentially making his acquisition costly for suitors.

Villa’s interest in Mbaye reflects the club’s desire to strengthen in attack next summer.

Ollie Watkins has struggled this term, while Jadon Sancho could return to parent club Manchester United. Donyell Malen, currently on loan at AS Roma, may also leave.

The Villans signed Tammy Abraham on a permanent deal from Besiktas in January, but he has yet to impress.
