Aston Villa are targeting Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal, with a £30 million proposal being readied. The Sun reports that Unai Emery’s side are preparing to bid for the 19-year-old.
Bernal broke through in 2025/26, making 33 appearances in all competitions and emerging as one of Barcelona’s brightest prospects. Barca boss Hansi Flick is said to view him as central to the club’s future.
The teenager is understood to be high on Emery’s wishlist as Villa consider testing the Catalans’ resolve.
Meanwhile, former West Brom loanee Toby Collyer has reportedly been told he can leave Manchester United on a permanent basis this summer. The 22-year-old was not included in the squad that travelled to Stockholm for Saturday’s pre-season win over Atletico Madrid.
Collyer joined West Brom on loan last August but suffered a calf injury in late November. United recalled him on 1 January before he moved to Hull City on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
