Aston Villa welcome Juventus to Villa Park in a huge Champions League tie this evening.
Unai Emery will be hoping the arrival of the Italian giants can help inspire a turnaround in his side, following a run of six games without a win. Villa have endured a difficult spell of late, a run that has included a Carabao Cup exit to Crystal Palace and heavy defeats at Tottenham and Liverpool.
However, The Villans remain in strong position to qualify in the Champions League. Emery’s side have won three of their four European fixtures this season, including a 1-0 win over Bayern Munich at Villa Park. The visit of another European superpower should stir a raucous atmosphere in Birmingham this evening.
Aston Villa will be without Jacob Ramsey and Amadou Onana against Juventus, with the former yet to return from a hamstring injury sustained earlier this month. Onana missed Belgium’s second fixture of the international break with a foot problem and remains out.
There’s better news on Ezri Konsa and Boubacar Kamara, however, who are fit to boost Emery’s options. Matty Cash also made his return as a substitute during the draw against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Aston Villa: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Barkley, Tielemans; Bailey, Rogers, McGinn; Watkins.
Aston Villa host Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday 27th November 2024. Kick-off at Villa Park is 8pm GMT.
Aston Villa vs Juventus will be televised on TNT Sports 2 and Discovery+.
