Manchester United midfield target Ederson was notably absent from Atalanta’s 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, as the Brazilian edges closer to a move to Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old has emerged as a target for United, who are seeking to bolster their midfield ahead of the new Premier League season.
Talks between the two clubs are said to be at an advanced stage, with personal terms reportedly agreed in principle.
The 26-year-old Brazilian has emerged as a priority signing for United, who are seeking to reinforce their midfield options ahead of the new Premier League season.

Ederson had featured in 30 of Atalanta’s 37 Serie A matches prior to Friday’s trip to Stadio Artemio Franchi, underlining his importance to La Dea throughout the campaign.
In total, he has made 41 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
After the match, Atalanta manager Raffaele Palladino confirmed Ederson’s absence was linked to his potential transfer, stating that the decision was mutually agreed due to ongoing activity in the transfer market.
“Ederson out? It was a decision we agreed with the boy because there is movement in the transfer market,” Palladino said.
“The fact that such a player is being followed by such a big club should be a source of pride.”
Ederson is under contract with Atalanta until June 2027, but the club’s leverage will diminish if they fail to secure a transfer fee this summer.
