Ederson will return to Bergamo after the vacations, as Manchester United didn’t finalize the signing after a second round of medicals, and Atalanta are confident he’ll sign a new contract, Sky reports.

It’s rare to see a transfer falling through because of the failed medicals by a perfectly healthy player, let alone two. La Dea’s position is understandable, but his level of motivation will make the difference, since he had more than one foot out of the door. They can technically wait until January, but they’d have no choice but to find a new landing spot if he turned down the renewal. Plus, they aren’t going to get the same numbers regardless.

As for the Rossoneri, they need to sell at least Youssouf Fofana and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, or learn what Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot are going to do for sure, before an addition of this caliber.
